4gb Cf Eiii
I am contemplating the purchase of a 4GB CF Extreme III card. I understand that the card speed is wasted in the Axim but digital camera and card reader performance is at least equally important to me.

But the price is steep. Best I could find, US$415. EIII owners, I would appreciate feedback on the performance of and experience with 1GB/2GB/4GB CF EIII cards.

Guys, there are so many users here I can't believe that noone ever used an Extreme III CF card in either a CF 2.0 (?) compatible card reader or the Axim. Come out of the dark now.

In a SD 1.1 compliant card reader the 1GB SD version does approach the advertised 20MB/s read rate for large files (using HDBench). How about the CF cards (any size > 1gb!). Any glitches when used in the x50(v)?

Nope, I bought that one 1GB SD that I use in my SD500 digicam and it works great.

For camera speed, your most demanding need for speed is with continuous frame shooting at high resolution (The [ ]]] mode). You can calculate based on shutter repeat speed (frames per second) times the picture size (MB of jpg) to calculate what speed you need. (MB/s)

Thanks, your sig says you have a standard CF and an SD EIII. I'm seeking info on the CF EIII, however.
