Max size?
What is the max size of CF or SD card you can put in the x51v?

I saw a post about a 10gb one LOL and lots of posts about 1gb and 2gb ones.

Best wishes

Not 100% sure what the maximum size is but anything you can buy today should have no problems. Most people talk about 1GB and 2GB because they are the best size for your $ these days - but you can go bigger if you want to spend the money. Just remember the axim doesn't take advantage of high speed cards - so you don't *need* to spend the extra for them.

Where did you read that? I'm not trying to argue I'm just suprised if the OS could only handle 2GB SD and 4GB CF - I would have thought that it would be file system dependent? I'd also expect the max size for both to be the same.

fat 16 format can only address 2 gb of memory fat 32 format can address up to 32 gb if you have all the data lines included in your hardware cf cards have way more pins than sd cards so the sd is limited to how many data lines it can use for addressing so a cf card can be made with higher capacity at the moment

I've used 6GB Microdrives and 5GB PCMCIA Cards on my X50V. Seeing as the hardware is practically identical I would think 6GB CF microdrives would work fine. I have a 4GB SD card arriving on Monday. I'll post back here and let you know how it goes.

I thought the max size for either card is relative to the
thickness of your wallet! Look at the equation:

(Thickness/Wallet) - (useless biz cards) - (rebates) = Max Memory

Furthermore, would it be possible to load up the BIG memory
cards with more "junque?"

With 2GB combined + BIS, think anyone truly requires more
filing cabinets? Don't think so.
