BIS and SD Question
What is the speed difference between running an application from BIS vs. SD? What is the difference between these locations and RAM? I know freeing up RAM can help the speed of apps, but does the slower speed of running from BIS or SD outweigh the advantage, especially if you are only running a few apps at a time?

With all the talk about limited write cycles to BIS, I've always been paranoid about using it much. I think I've given up on that paranoia now, though. It hit me the other day that if the OS is installed to BIS, how many reads and writes does that make each day? Using it to run an application off of seems like a spit in the ocean compared to OS activiity. My main factor with BIS now is the speed. I would like to play my songs off of there. How do MP3's and WMA's play off of BIS?

I am not sure of the speed difference, but I showed what programs I installed in which locations on View My PDA. Generally speaking most games are on my SD card along with programs I do not use regularly. However there are some programs that need to be installed in BIS to run properly. I know this doesn't answer all your question, but hope it helps.

Edit
PS: All of my mp3s and pics are on my SD card, and my videos on my CF card. I would not suggest putting these large capacity itmes in BIS, it is a waste of space.

I know for a fact that the BIS is slower than SD or CF. This said I install most of my program to BIS but put games, videos and music to my storage cards.
