Some advice on a card
Im looking for a large (2gb) capacity card for music.

Basically the only factor i dont know about is power consumption. Would playing music off a 2gb CF take more power then a 2gb SD or vice versa?

If all i'll be doing with the card is playing music, is there anything else i should consider?

I dont think you can really tell a difference in either just the price and the ability to use the same card in another device that needs one if you own another device.

Capacity. For music you should consider a larger card .

I have not checked battery run times when music is played from SD compared to CF. I doubt it makes a noticeable difference. Don't worry. Get the card which suits you best (price, speed etc.) and factor $19 + shipping into the price - for a replacement battery which will double the run time no matter which card you use!

Thanks for the replaies. I think 2gb is enough, plus i cant afford any more then that.. Well.. I did see a refurb 5gb CF for around 100 bucks in another post, but i think its too risky

Buy.com has a 2GB Kingston Elite CF card right now for $99 after rebate. Good Deal...

Man, the price of these cards keeps dropping!

Between CF and SD - I like CF because I can plug it in everywhere; my laptop my camera and my Axim. As for speed - I haven't noticed a difference between it and the SD.

Using both 1GB CF & SD cards in my X50v and X50 High. Wouldn't (could not) be able to distinguish
any power consumption or speed difference.

I haven't tried it but my 1GB Ultra SD card has a small flip out "thingy" turning it into a USB connection (ScanDisk Ultra II).

I am looking forward to the next generation of laptops. Smaller,
lighter, long battery life. HDD's are being replaced by BIG
CF & SD storage cards. I can't wait to see the thin, lightweights. Probably a small fortune to start!
