Update re. 8GB Transcend CF

The card performs fine in the Axim which should be no surprise. Music, video, starting programs, some limited GPS, all work fine. The card is indeed slow to write to in a card reader just like the synthetic benchmarks predicted.

To give you a perspective, the Transcend 8GB CF is about 2.5 times faster than the 3k6 MicroDrive to store around 150 MP3s of approx. 6.5MB each in a card reader. The Extreme III SD card is again 2.2 times faster than the Transcend. According to synthetic benchmarks all of my 60x-plus SD cards would be at least as fast as the Transcend in this real-world test, but I tested only one of my slower models. That one is indeed about 12% faster.

(BTW, I've run out of space - again... Spent the first evening of ownership benchmarking the card, and filled it up on the second night. Bring on those 40GB cards.)

Another update: the 120x model is now out for the same price as the 80x that I got, here. This should push the price of the 80x down over the next couple of weeks.
