Soft reset after transferring files to SD card?
Whenever I transfer files to my SD card I would have to do a soft reset to have the files show up. Is this normal?

Transferring from my desktop via a card reader. After doing the soft reset, the files "show up".

when you reinsert your SD card and open file explorer, are you going back to "my device" and re-selecting the SD card?

After I transfer mp3's to the SD card, I just go to Windows Media to try and play it, but it doesn't show up.....not until I do the soft reset does it then "appear".

did you click the update library? or tried to locate the files? I believe WM keeps the last open folder open so you would need to go up one folder and open the folder where your mp3's are to see them. kind of like reloading them.

try this. click Menu, Library..., tap the top left drop down menu and select file system, then click sd card again.

Hi Coach, or anyone else who see this.

I'm having the same problem. I have a brand new x50v, 2003se, and it won't recognize my 1 Gig Sandisk SD card. The files show on my reader, but the Axim says storage card "not in use". It's just not there.

I reformatted the card, adding a new, empty folder, put it in the Ax, and did a soft reset. Still nothing. It didn't recognize the card with the data, and it doesn't recognize it newly formatted either.

Ideas? Is there something you're supposed to do with a new axim to initiate the card reader in it? (I can't find the "menu/library" thing you were talking about.) I notice the SD shows being built 12/27/04, so maybe the tech wasn't happy about working over the holidays!

Thanks for whatever advice anyone has,
valerie
