Expert help please? New ax can't read SD card
~Take a brand new x50v, 624 mhz, WM 2003SE, A05 ROM.
~Take a new Sandisk 1 gig SD card with data on it, used in a different, now dead Axim, data that still shows up on a card reader.
~Take an absolute newbie, who inserts the SD card into the new Ax.
~The Ax is blind. Nothing. Storage card "not in use".
~The Newbie soft resets. Nothing.
~She reformats the card, creates new folder on it, still nothing.
~Soft reset again. Nothing.

What gives? Bad SD slot on the new Axim? Possible? Or is the newbie missing some steps somewhere? (please?)

Hello valuc1111. My suggestion is to reformat the sd card. You can save the info onto your pc first so you don't lose anything. Then read this thread and especially the article by the genius known as Menneisyys. If that doesn't help let us know and we'll go from there. I believe that when you reformat the card w/the correct file system (like fat 16 or fat 32) it will help the Ax recognize your card.

Thanks, Steve. I DID reformat, in the fat 32 default. And then another soft reset. Still nothing.
