is it me or does SD seem faster than CF X50v..
I have plane jane 1gb SD card from Sandisk and 2gb CF from PNY(23x write, 43 read speed)...but the SD card seems faster when using my GPS maps...ie start up , redraws and recalcs...

I think the PNY 2GB CF is going back....

is SD faster than CF????

You're not imagining it. According to users of betaplayer/tcpmp, the axim's compact flash slot is slower than the SD slot. There have been a rom update that mentions an improvement to this, so I'm not sure if the speed difference is still existing.

I honestly can't tell much of a difference to be honest with you. Maybe there is one? I don't know...

I would blame it on the PNY brand.

Nope. The plain jane SD from Sandisk is about 3X as fast as the plain jane CF from Sandisk (reading speed from a USB2 reader).
