SD Cards - real world vs benchmarks

i think i read every thread about SD speed issues on this site. i have 512 'standard' sandisk, and bought a 'hi-speed' patriot. the hi speed benchmarks three times faster, yet in the laptop & the x50v, NOTHING was noticably faster. transfering files, opening them, copy & paste... all the same speed as far as the user is concerned.
the only thing that seemed faster to me, was when i had mobile 5 installed for a day or two. that seemed very fast when reading off of the card... of course, the rest of the OS was slow and buggy!! i guess we have to hurry up and wait for an updated version!!

With your laptop, it's probably that your card reader isn't USB2.0 so it can't transfer as fast.
