Which brand of SD ?
Is there a significant difference between the brands of SD cards ?
Is Kingston or LG or Sandisk any different quality wise ?

I've used both as well and agree completely. Awhile back, there were some issues with Sandisk SD cards, but the problems seem to be in the past now.
I never knew LG made SD cards, but when I Googled it, sure enough, there it was! :hide:

I used over the last few years Sandisk, Lexar and Kingston. Only good experiences with these.

Using a Sandisk 1GB SD card for 'bout four months.
No problems at all. Same for Sandisk's 1GB CF.
I have two of each, for both Ax's, no problems at all.
Why Sandisk? Sale priced at Staples, that's why!

I have used an A-Data 150x 2GB card for a month or two. And this morning I upgraded to a 4GB A-Data and it looks fine so far (formated it's 3.7GB).
Cheers,
Bill K.

I picked up a Sandisk 1 Gb for $29 after rebate on a "black friday" sale at staples and it has worked flawlessly since then.

i would get whatever is cheapest. i got a cheap ($115) sd card from newegg, and it works fine. i bought adata myflash. they all work fine. i wouldnt worry about it unless there is a review under it that says "doesn't work in x50"
(other ppl will say that the quality is diffrent depending on things, but really it is all the same, because it depends on the axim's read speed, not the card's)

The big difference in a lot of SD cards is speed, for instance Sandisk makes a regular 1 GB SD card for $64.49 at Newegg and an Ultra II, high speed SD card for $81.44. In a PDA, speed is not as important as say a digital camera shooting in continuous mode at 6 or 8 mega-pixels per shot. Pick a known brand name and a good dealer, either online or local store, and you can't go wrong.

I have a 1GB PNY SD card in my X51. I got it because it was on sale at Staples for $54, with no rebate needed.
