does anybody here know if the seagate st1 series is compatable with an X50V?

btw, anyone know about battery drain? (i cant find any spec sheets on seagate's website)

Some are and some aren't. It all depends on the firmware. The ones without a firmware shown should be compatible. There have been quite a few posts on this topic here.

well i took the plunge and ordered the computergeeks 5gb st1 microdrive, should be receiving in a few days, i'll let everyone know if it works on my x50v running 2003

fwi: the p/n # is 9AF212-001 which is the model that has had success w/ site users also the manufacturer list, includes the x50v as a compatible device

If it says FW 3.04 on the back or any number higher than that it wont work. If it says nothing it will work. I have an ST1 drive I ripped out of my Rio Carbon and it works great with my x50v.

I will almost guarantee that it won't work. The last time I spoke with their tech support they said that they had sold out of all the new ones and the only ones that they had were ones that people had returned because they did not work on their PDA's. You would have saved yourself some time if you had done a search of these forums like I suggested. (or maybe you'll get lucky!)

I called and the customer service person told me it was new, but then again you cant be certain unless he had the st1 in front of him. Only consolation is that Compgeeks will let me return it if it doesnt work, unlike ebay sellers.
