Defragmenting a SD/CF card??

Hey guys...

Has anyone ever defragmented their SD or CF card? i have a 2GB SD, 1GB SD and 1 GB CF and they're all prettymuch full... so they're running kinda slow, just wondering if i use windows to defrag them they'd run a little faster? or if that will even make a difference? :S

A better idea is to copy all the files from the card to a directory on your PC, delete all files and folders on the card, and then just copy them back.
Defrag needs "extra" space that you might not have, and defrag takes more time.

I don't believe there is any speed difference anyway. The reason we defrag a hard disk is to reduce the latency caused by the seek time of the head.

In a solid state memory card there is no such delay.

Uzziah is right though, just move everything off and move it all back on. Or copy/delete/copy.
