Wet SD card
I have a 128meg Lexas SD card which I accidentally dropped in water today. I immediately rinsed it off and dried it; now my Axim X3 doesn't recognize it.

The card was fine immediately before I pulled it out and replaced it with another card; the PDA recognizes other cards just fine.

I wouldn't think that brief exposure to water -- less than 30 seconds, total -- would destroy an SD card. Any thoughts?

I would leave it out at least overnight to make sure it's completely dry before trying it in your Axim again. There have been lots of stories of people putting their SD cards through the wash only to have them work just like before. Rinsing with distilled water is also better than just plain tap water.

there is likely water inside that may cause it to short out. let it sit for a few days and dry naturally.

Yep, I found a SD card at the bottom of the washing machine when I was taking my clothes out and putting them into the dryer. I put into my Axim X3i and it recognized it right away and there have been no problems since then. This happened a few months ago.

there was a test done by an australia pc magazine & if i remember correctly they put the sd card in the wash & turn on the longest/hottest/strongest setting and the sd card come out fine afterwards.

i think u should just leave it for a day and try again

Ditto on letting it dry naturally. I had a similar experience with a CF card. Worked fine after drying.
