hasn't died in my x50v. There are several posts about this drive (the retail pack version) and most have been positive.

Any large files (mp3s, movies) I would suggest you transfer them using a USB card reader for CFII and not use ActiveSync. AS is very slow compaired to a card reader IMHO.

I got mine last week and it works great. but I second the idea of a card reader of some type. to me it was worth the money to get 8 gb.

My 8GB was working fine when I was pretty much just using TCPMP and SPT plus 3.0, but since I started installing some more applications, I tested Wisbar Adv and Wisbar Desktop and Installed a few more programs and Now I'm suffering the CF and SD Dissapearing glitch.

Have you tired the AS fake server trick? The instructions are posted on this site as a 'sticky'. Since its application on my X51V I have had zero, thats right NONE instances of SD or CF card loss. Battery drain has stopped while my unit is in the off condition also.

Yes I did that when I got the axim and it was fine until I started installing applications. As long as I was stock just using tcpmp I had no problems. The moment you actually start installing 3rd party apps and using the unit this is when it all went to crap.
