I'm Back - SD/CF Question
I am so easily befuddled

I have the x51. 2 slots, right? SD & CF. SD's the little one, right?

I want apps on one card - I don't care which one.
I want music, audiobooks, & data that doesn't need daily access on the other.

All I want is for the data card to be the card that is the easiest to get in and out of the unit. Don't want to have to pull the app card out to change the data card - kwim?

Is that an issue? Do you have to remove one to get to the other?

Thanks so much for putting up with me.

right? Right on!

I want music, audiobooks, & data that doesn't need daily access on the other. Either one is easy to remove. I usually use the CF for films, music, data.

Data to CF works great. CF easy to remove although either memory card works.

Is that an issue? Do you have to remove one to get to the other?
Not necessary to remove both cards, either or.
Thanks so much for putting up with me.

I think the sd comes out better than the cf on my x50. The cf you have to pull out with your fingernails where the sd all you have to do is push down on it and it pops up.

Most people recommend: apps on SD, media files on CF. Access to the SD is faster, so it will make more sense to have apps on your SD card. Since media streams off your CF fast enough to view/listen/etc, that's the default for media files. Also, since media files (music, movies, etc) can end up taking up a LOT of space, the CF is the way to go, since you may eventually upgrade to a microdrive (MD) or a larger CF card, which tends to be more affordable than a similar-sized SD card.

i'm going with that format too, as i'm getting a microdrive (and will get a high speed sd)

but, personally, i think the sd is a heck lot easier to remove (and to store a spare too), so if you really want to take it out for data transfers a lot, i'd put my data on that.
