This is the same rebate package I used before to get my 8gb Seagate micro drive. Drive works great with no issues with a X51V. Regate sent in 2 weeks ago and no word yet but their web site indicated 4-6 weeks.

micro drives
Pardon my ignorance... but what is the fascination with 8Gb microdrives? Aren't they a drain on the system's power? Which means less battery life, which in turn means you are glued to a power source more often, which in turn means you should have more equipment, which in turn means you might as well carry a larger system (NEC Mobil Pro) or a Laptop... I did, however, see a universal solar power adaptor out there... might be of interest in sunny Puerto Rico!

That has not been my experience. There is more power used that a standard CF card but if you need or desire the additional storeage capacity the 8gb is a reasonable way to go. I store movies on my micro drive as well as other large file types (pdf, mp3 etc.).

I got a 4GB and it's tempting but I'm gonna wait for perpendicular micro drives. Imagine 20GB microdrives, let's see flash do that w/ a reasonable price.

OOS already. This one went pretty quick.
Also seems they changed the rebate on the 6GB Hitachi MD to $30 instead of $50 at a lot of the sites.
