Not really. Not only is it VERY likely that it is broken, but it also is certain that it will not work with axim because it has the Apple firmware. Seller probably pulled it from a broken ipod and is aware of that. It's a risk to take for someone looking to fix their ipod mini, though.

I wouldn't worry to much about the apple firware, if you can get any sort of recognition, even on a mac, you should be able to wipe the disc clean and get some use out of it. Hope this goes well for you, if so post some info, so other axim users can dismantle broken iPods. Just make sure it can physically fit in, if it is broken it may not work, but i'm willing to test it out...best case scenario: mega-cheap microdrive, ok scenario: buy ipod parts and fix them, worst case scenario: throw it out or sell on ebay... :) could you pm me your results?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if it is from an ipod mini, I don't think it will work. Now if you have another ipod mini......you could be in luck.

Back onto ebay it shall go!

I've read that some CF cards that come out of MP3 players actually work on a nonstandard voltage and can even possibly connect differently than an OEM card, and that it's possible to fry both the card and the device using it.
Sounds like bull to me. It was from a feller trying to compete with the cheap microdrives on ebay. Anyone heard anything similar?
