Nelson,

I'd say, unlikely. I do not have an x30 so I am not familiar with its limitations and capabilities, but I do seem to recall statements here which said that the x30 does not support the FAT32 file system. As such it would be limited to 2GB cards because that is the max. size which is supported by the FAT16 standard.

Of course, there is a non-standard way to format a 4GB card with FAT16. I would not count on it to work for you, though. Unless you plan to use the card in another 4GB compliant device as well, I'd recommend to get two 2GB cards instead.

The X30 certainly does support FAT32, all Windows Mobile devices do. Whether it can use a 4 GB SD card I don't know, but if the card is standard, it should work.

That computes. I think that because the x30 is a device older than the x50 - which I bought to replace a Palm based PDA - that old Palm FAT16 limitation must have been at the back of my mind when I replied. Thanks for setting this straight.

So, has anyone bought the 4GB for an X30? I'm gonna spring for the A-Data 4GB from New Egg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211319 for $187 if some has tried one.

Also, if anyone has a better deal please let me know.

Thanks Ogopogo. I just ordered an A-Data off ebay. I've seen a few bad opinions but 90% are fine. I paid $155 inc shipping.

I'm pretty sure it will work with it. Maybe this is a question for somebody from Dell though....

I ordered the 4GB. If it doesn't work, oh well...I'll throw it in my dig camera. That'd be great too.

That's what I thought, too, but what Adama said in post #4 makes perfect sense.

I just received my 4GB Adata SD card, popped it into my card reader, loaded a .wmv movie and.....Success....the Adata streamed my movie through WMP without a hitch. Plays without skipping or anything. (I've got an X30 high)

The Adata 4GB works out of the package no problem. I see 3.78GB in my X30 and 3.9GB or so in my card reader in my desktop. Very fast to load a file to it, much faster then loading from my PC to a USB flash drive.
