Not recognizing Sandisk 4 gig cf card

i just got a sandisk 4 gig compact flash card but when i place it in the axim i get the dialogue message:

"Enter the name of device driver for this card.for more information see card manufacture documentation"
'unknown card in slot 1'

i didnt see anything for this with the user info, what am i supposed to do? i formatted using the FAT32 option,is this correct? i want to formatt in FAT16 but didnt see an option for this on my pc,how would i formatt in FAT16?

thanks in advance!!

I just got the sandisk 4gb cf card and it worked fine here. it should be formatted for FAT32. I assume it worked ok in your pc with a card reader? if so you might just have a bad one. they should replace it no questions asked.

big dave could the reason it works for you be because i have a x51v( wm5, ROM06 ) and you have a x50v, because i have it formatted as FAT32 and it's still not working because it wants to know the name of the "device driver".......does anyone know what this is??

Cards that work in x50s work in x51s, too - same hardware. Where did you buy your card? Any chance you got it off eBay?

I have a X51V and am using a Seagate 8gb CF II micro drive with no issues. There have been threads posted here about micro drives that were designed for use other than with PDAs. Do a search on micro drives on this site for specifics as my memory is great just short :).

ok here's the scoop.......just out of curiosity i did a hard reset and tried the card before i restored my files/apps and tried the card, and it worked!! then i restored everything back on the axim then the card wouldnt work,so i'm guess the axim's& ability to read the card is in conflict with somthing i have installed on the axim?? i'll have to wait until i have time to go thru everything, but at least i know it's nothing wrong with the card or axim, any ideals??
