Remember when...
I have seen quite a few post on the site where members have gotten great deals on either CF or SD cards. One member purchased a 2GB SD card for $63 and another found a 6GB CF for about $150.
All of which brings me to my title, I remembered when back when I was a Sony Clie user, I purchased 128MB of their proprietery memory stick for a whopping $140. I understand that prices will drop as new technology emerges, but I just couldn't help to think about what is coming around the corner in terms of SD or CF.
I think I will wait and see if there are any other 2 GB SD card dealls out there as I can use the extra space for my programs. Anyone out there have anything they want to share or their own story?

Thanks.

I remember getting a upgrade chip that was 2gb in size for my Palm Pilot. At the time the Palm was only 1mb. The chips cost at that time was $168. I got two of them, one for my unit and one for my sons unit for the price of $50.00. Now I have a 8gb CF micro drive and a unit that has 256mb of internal memory.

I had a handspring neo with 8mb memory wanted to upgrade the memory so I had to buy a 16mb memory card only useable in the neo for 60.00 which was half the price I paid for the neo. Try loading a movie on that and see how long it last lol.

Around 1990 a 10MB PCMCIA ram card for the HP100LX cost around $1000 (US).

How about $1000 to be able to carry two mp3 songs around. Of course, the 100LX couldn't play mp3's, and 10MB could fit a lot of DOS programs so it's just a point of reference.

I have a 8gb microdrive and a 512 mb sd card. My wife's laptop just has a 7gb hard drive. The laptop is a Dell 7000 Inspiron and about 5 years old, but it is still working.

That's a great hard drive (in the laptop). I wonder what brand it is. I hope she has her data backed up, just in case.
