Jogging with a microdrive?
Hi all...I just got my Axim a few days ago, and was thinking about buying an 8GB microdrive to go with it, mainly for documents, downloads, music, videos, etc. But I also jog in the mornings...is that safe to do with a microdrive? I plan to run PocketPlayer, but I haven't decided weather to put the Axim in my pocket or on a belt clip (unless someone makes an armband for it!)

Any ideas? I'm really looking forward to having Zeppelin's entire discography with me for the jog.

There is video on seagate's site says that it's safe to run with the MD, even drop it. Of course you cant believe it entirely, but maybe they did put some work to it.

the newer microdrives have a g-force detector built in that will park the head when it detects a free fall or eccessive shock or vibrations

I wouldnt try that with your BMW

My axim has fallen down from my belt clip 3 times now I think, the MD is still working and the axim is still working

I am lucky when it comes to the PDA, It came off my belt clip somehow and got onto the floor on the bus and bounced down the "exit stairs" and the axim came out of my clear plastic case but luckily the screen didnt brake.

Personally, I wouldn't use a microdrive... moving parts? no thanks. It also uses more power, even if ever so slight.

I have used my X50v with a microdrive to run with for over a year without any problems. I just recently switched to an iPod nano because I never really found a good place to put my Axim. I tried the side belt, back belt, around my arm, back shirt pocket (on my Under Armor wet dry shirt), leg mount, and holding it. I just could not find a place that I was happy with.
