Storage cards at the CeBit show!
Hi guys,

I visited the CeBIT in Hannover, Germany yesterday (saturday).
Seen alot of cool stuff.
One of the cool things where 8GB SD cards (FAT32 formatted) and 16GB Compact Flash cards .

So if we have patients... and a sack full of money, our Axim's can soon compete with iPods .
PocketPlayer sure makes that possible .

I will put some photo's i made on my website when i have some time .

Wow. Seems like there's no limit. I too would like to see a working prototype though.

Oh yeah. I thought of something else that might be important to know. How much are these things going to cost?

Let's not get too excited. These new SDHC (high capacity) cards will implement the SD 2.0 specification and most likely require compatible devices... Don't be surprised if the Axim is not compatible. Also, they will come in three classes indicating their speeds: 2, 4, and 6 MB/s, i.e. all slow.

Wow! They probably cost more than an iPod, though...

Drool....
These 8GB SD cards are 1.1 spec right? not the 2.0 spec recently mentioned that can attain capacities of 32GB.

Don't know. However, Panasonic announced a 4GB SD card that is SD spec 2.0. So I believe that SD cards > 4GB will be SD 2.0. I do hope that I am wrong here. Let it be SD 1.1, please...
