ADATA 2GB HIGH SPEED vs. TURBO HIGH SPEED
Hey guys. I am looking to purchase a 2GB SD Card but I am torn between the following two cards:
www.emartbuy.co.uk/products.php?prodid=103
and
www.emartbuy.co.uk/products.php?prodid=98
Is there actually a true speed difference between these two cards? I am looking to use this to store a few movies and stuff on until I get the Seagate 8GB microdrive. Is the price differece worth the Turbo, or is it really negligable? Transfer speeds aren't that important but read speeds are since I will be watching movies.
Thanks.
Rue.

Believe it or not, the 50X actually works better than the 150X in your PDA (assumption based on an X51v working the same as my X50v).
See the benchmark thread for more details.

ughh. I cant believe I bought a slower card. Im so freaking pissed.
Wait. could it be possible that the 150x 512 mb is just as fast as the 50x in my Ax? Is there any way of knowing or is it random?

The problem is that there's no standard for measuring the speeds of these cards, so a manufacturer could say that they've got a 150x card because they multiplied or added together the read and write speeds... on top of the problem of various brands being faster by virtue of the technology used in them - sorta like how the older Panasonic cards were faster than the cheap Samsung cards because of the quality of the chipsets and controllers used in the construction of each, even though both were standard SD cards.
