The definitive solution to getting microdrives out of your Ax without tape!
Just use pliers. I take out my SD and use the pliers. Believe it or not, it actually damages less than fingernails. No marks left! (unless I jerk by accident and it rips a piece of the plastic off ) But this is working for me now, and its ok because I dont take it out often.

What? Haven't you seen Remo Williams? There are exercises you can do to strengthen your fingernails.

Directions for the micro drive state not to put pressure on the sides of the drive. Also I do not happen to carry plyers with me in case I wish to remove the drive. Tape is a much safer method IMHO.

That sounds like living on the edge to me, also. I much prefer to use the tape and slide the end down behind the Ax inside my case (so it can't be seen). When I need to remove the drive, like to add MORE MOVIES (I have about 15 full length movies now) I just use my stylus to pop up the end of the tape and lightly pull to remove it SAFELY! I'm sure you can use the pliers, but it seems more work to do it than with tape, IMHO.

I just rap mine sharply against the desk's surface. It usually pops out far enough to pry the rest of the way aut with a pocket knife.

p.s. Shouldn't this be in the "What Not To Tell A Newbie" thread?

My solution was buying an 8GB Ultra II CF and enjoying the little lip on the end

Why would I carry needle pliers if tape is a safer, cheaper, and tool-less solution?

Anyone thought using their teeth. It is always with you and using the proper pressure you won't leave any marks

I cut a slot in the back of the rear cover, and put grooves in the card with a dremel too. Now it's very ergonomic.

I prefer to submerse my Axim into a cup full of liquid nitrogen. Since the metal contracts more below -170 F, when I pull the Axim out, my 8Gb MD practically falls right out.

So easy everyone should try it a couple times a week.
