New 2.00 gb SD only shows as 1.00 gb?

I have just taken delivery of my new 2.00 gb SanDisk SD card. It is in genuine packaging with hologram etc. and registered OK on the Sandisk site. It works well in my x51v but it only reports as a 1.00 gb. I tried it in my old Palm m130 and it shows as a 2.00 gb. I have checked it with Memmaid and Total Commander (and memory settings in the axim) and all report it as 1.00 gb.
Where is my extra 1.00 gb???
I was going to reformat the card but none of my programmes seem to offer this facility.
The card cost me 46 pounds on eBay including postage (next day delivery). I think it was a pretty good buy but I would like to find the extra gig.

You can reformat it on your pc if you have a card reader. use FAT23. then create a folder in the \ dir called My Documents. see if that helps you.

Thanks for that but unfortunately I don't have a SD reader. If anyone thinks it would be a definite fix I will buy one.

You can also dowload the trial of SKtools (do a google search) and that should reformat it. But I would buy a card reader if you plan on transfering large files.

I agree - buy yourself a card reader - 2Gigs is a lot and it will take forever using the cradle link.

PS you could have got a 2Gig one from ebuyer for £42.67 inc supersaver delivery
They do a few card readers as well.

I just noticed the use of the word sandisk in your post - hopefully they havent got another problem with axims using their SD cards!!
