Removing Seagate Photo Drive?
Heh, this is going to sound really dumb, but I received my 8gb Seagate CF thingy today. Tested in my card reader and it works great! Put a movie on it and put it in my Axim. Plays fine. Went to transfer files through ActiveSync to it, also works. Tried to take it out of my X51V, but no go. There is nothing to grab onto to pull it out, meaning it's stuck fast .
I read a lot of people have these cards, so how do you guys go about removing them? I was thinking perhaps attaching a makeshift grip to the back perhaps.

Lol, you should have used a tape and made a tab. There's an example picture somewhere on Aximsite in a thread about microdrives. Right now... mmmm.. no idea what you can do.

Use a piece of scotch tape. Theres enough room on the sd card side to press the tape to the drive and pull it out.

Thanks! =D What an awkward way of removing it, but the tape held eventually. Would it do any damage to always have a strip of tape stuck to it?

I don't think it should. Many members who have this drive permanently affix a piece of tape to the microdrive forming a tab which they can use to easily remove the drive. Just make sure not to cover the little hole with the tape.

I used a small piece of Electrical Tape from end to end and folded it into a very small handle. it holds up well, but I leave the drive in the unit at all times.

Is this case the same for the normal CF and SD cards. On my X31, all you had to do was push down on the card and it would pop out.

Thanks in advance

SD ones pop out but the CF ones don't . I guess the spring required for some of the heavier ones would be a tad too large.

I have this same drive, and the scotch tape and it just didn't hold up. Now I just use packing tape instead. One thing though.... make sure you don't cover the little hole that says "Do not seal this hole"
Works like a charm!

air pressure equalisation,

The drive is sealed to prevent dust getting in, if they sealed it perfectly it would expand and contract with temperature changes. The hole has a dust filter on it and allows the air in and out

Speaking of pressure, is this thing OK to take on planes? I'll be going abroad this summer.
