File going AWOL

Hi,

Anyone had a similar problem?

I have X30 mid with a PNY 1GB SD card. I noticed this morning that sprite backup failed because my "backups" directory on the SD card was missing. Also when I ran TomTom I had no voices, looked at the SD card and 2 or 3 folders have disappeared (backups, voices and weatherpanel). I have heard of all the files disappering but not some!

any ideas?

I notice this happening ( rarely ) if I take the SD out and I forgot to completely close applications that are using the SD in some form. I usually either turn the Ax off again or do a soft reset to get the directories/files to show again. This could also be a sign that your SD card is incompatable or is failing if it happens a lot.

Did you "look" at the card using a card reader on you PC to verify they are still there? This is the case for me; they will be there using the card reader but won't be there when I look for them on the Ax.

Try putting the card in a Reader and running Windows Scandisk on it. See if it notices anything :)

Tried removing the card, scandisk, soft reset and even a hard reset (thank god for sprite backup). Still not showing the folders.

Another funny thing now, I replaced the schemes and voices folders for TomTom on the SD card but now TomTom can only find them if they are in the root directory of the axim. Looks like something else has screwed up where TomTom looks for the folders.

Tried copying all the files to another SD card but the problem is still there.

Looks like a hard reset and reinstall is on the horizon.
