Edge Card Readers - reliable?
I just bought, from Newegg, a 2 gb Patriot 133x and an Adata 512 mb 50x. Both are sd cards, one for camera and the other a spare for Axim x30 H as I've filled a PNY 512. The Adata especially was based on test results and user experiences mostly from this site -- Thanks in advance!!!

Tonight I transferred (the Nikon P2 has wireless capability) a few hundred mb in a whopping 22 minutes. Obviously a card reader would be a great use when gb become more common. I'm looking for a reliable, true high speed multi-reader (have 2 other formats). I have read a number of other posts about readers but did not see any users or tests of Edge brand.

The local Walmart has an Edge 8 or 9 -in-1 reader. I'm sure that they'll work, just how would they compare to Transcend, Sandisk and other well known brands (true speeds, construction, ??).

Dude they're mostly all very similar +- some flashy casings.

I'm using a plain jane multi format crompUSA reader that works quite fine.

Think I paid like 16 beans for it.

I tried a plain - internal reader a couple of years ago. The pin connector was foreign to my MB, though I did know of a work around for that (add $$). Next, it didn't quite fit into the 3 1/2" bay as well as it should have, and lastly, the overall construction was a bit weak and loose. I was able to return it and have just downloaded straight to PDA or camera since.

Now I am in the market for a reader (~$20 +-) and have some time to check things out.
