this is not strange
I bade an 8GB CF on ebay about 2 months ago, $247 shipped
works perfectly with my X50v, X51v, and HX2415
just "8GB" is off, but who cares now
I did some tests, and been sure it's 8GB, and around 80x
update: I have been ebay, found some "unknown" 8GB CF are around $200 shipped

There are a couple of 8gb CF cards under $200. RiData and PQI. I've posted these in the hardware deals forum.

RiData 8GB CF Flash, $183.99 + $4.81 s/h, = $188.80.
At NewEgg. Their 4GB is on sale for $93.99, too.
both are 80X speed

That sucks that newegg do not ship to canada, the only cheap RiData that I can get is this one
http://www.mydigitaldiscount.com/s.n...it.A/id.995/.f
and it has only a minimum of 100 000 erase cycle compared to 1 000 000 for the newegg one, so I come to the conclusion that it is of lower quality.
I guess that I'll wait ...

Just so there's an understanding gb and GB are different. gb means gigabit which is 1/8 of a gigabyte. I think some are not noticing that little detail.

That's a honest mistake on my part. I was posting from the axim and got lazy to switch cases. Apologies if I confused anybody.

At any (market) rate, an 8gb card should be fairly cheap, say $20. ;)
