microdrives a tight fit?

is it just me or are microdrives a REALLY tight fit in the axim x51v? i couldn't get my seagate 5gb drive out without pliers!

uh- yeah they fit in there pretty tight. dont use pliyers though! instead get a pice of strong tape and stick it to the end of the MD then fold the other part of the tape over its self and and put that sucker out.

just need to get a pair of mini-pliers on my keychain to pull it out wherever you are :-P

not a bad idea. i wish the axim had a "push out" lever on it though, like laptops and most other devices do

like i said dont use pkiers. it will damage your MD faster than an octopus can change colors. (see my sig)

yeh i wasn't serious about using it as a final solution. just did that the first time round to get it out after i realized it was just about stuck. quickly switched to a 2gb standard CF card after that to avoid sticking the MD back in. will try the tape thingie.

The tape thinghy used to be part of the packaging with the original IBM Microdrives. Since Hitachi took over they haven't been supplying the little plastic pull tabs so we use the tape trick instead. Works fine with any CF card Type I or II actually.

I use normal cellotape to do it. It works like a charm and it doesn't look too bad either. Just slide the tape between the MD and the SD card.

hell yea it is a tight fit,I noticed that on the incompatible 3k4 drive I bought from cdw that they're exchangin btw,I had to have my dad get it out,like damn
