SD Card Detection Problem
Hi,

I have a Twinmos Ultra-X 1G SD and an Axim X50v on WM2003SE A05.

I have problem of the SD detection on the Axim, the system can only detect the SD card after alternate power up.

Means
Sd detected, power off -> power on... sd not detected -> power off -> power on... sd detected...
detected, not detected, detected, not detected .... Get the pic?

I do not have this problem with card reader. And when i got the card initially this problem did not exist... i couldn;t pinpoint the event when this starts

recently, I have formatted the card and flash in the A05 rom yet with no success in solving the problem.

Just wondering, has anyone encounter this phenomena before ? any idea to overcome?

Thanks

i have a similar issue with my x30 (WM2003SE) and a pny memory card. the pny card sometimes doesn't show up, and i don't know why. the kingston works every time.

i think it's just because it's a cheap card. but if anyone else has an answer, i'd be interested in hearing it as well.

Is there any corrosion or debris on the connection points? You may want to try cleaning them off a bit with a small piece of pencil eraser..

The contact point is clean.

I read tt turning on the bluetooth will help.
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=108905

I tried yesterday, and it works. It increases the detection to 9/10.

But problem is, x50 battery is not in my favor. i cant afford to be on bluetooth all the time.

Anyone got better solution?

I don't know if this is related, but I have this problem. If I take the card out and add and remove files, it does not recognize that anything has changed. If I try and open new files with TCPMP, the old directory structure still shows up.

Other than doing a reset, the only other way I have found to fix this is to have Resco Pocket Explorer open and viewing the SD card when I take it out and re-insert it. Then it recognizes the file changes.
