Does anyone have any experience with them, suggest a product or explain how a MMC is different from SD? I pretty much had my mind set on going out and getting a 2 gig SD card, but saw the MMC option and am now curious. Thanks.

MMC was a few years ago domed as it looked like
SD was going to win the marked. Then Nokia and others began using MMC in their phones because MMC are thinner. The marked has now given new life to the MMC's and there are a number of innovative news in MMC version 4 and 4.1.
However - most of these changes only benefit if the interface (the adapter) conforms to version 4 or 4.1 as well.
I use SD and MMC in a mixture, partly because some of the other gadgets in this household only uses MMC and partly when I saw a good offer on a MMC card.
Just my five cents
