SanDisk Ultra II 2GB SD on eBay, good?
There are 2GB SanDisk SD cards being sold on eBay and was wondering if I am getting a good deal on it. I am also wondering if it'll work on my Axim x51v, and that my unit will read ALL 2 GB of memory.

Ty d00ds.

here is link:

(This isn't an ad, just showing you if I should watch out for this eBayer or not.)

If it's a 2 gig SanDisk on eBay it is probably counterfeit. I bought one and it didn't work but I eventually got a refund from PayPal. There are a lot of fakes around so be careful. I finished up getting one from Amazon and it has been fine.

Looks like a fake but if you get it cheap enough it wont be a problem.

Not necessarily true! A premature failure and you're in muck! Out of luck!

This "Fake La Jake" Sandisk counterfeit SD/CF "stuff" has been around awhile.

Buyer beware! Best to trust a known source.

2GB Ultra II from Sandisk are runnin' $100US at Staples, watch for a sale perhaps.

I'd suggest to buy A-Data 50x 2GB SD
it's dirt cheap (check bensbargains.net), but it's reliable (I don't see anybody complains about it, and it works pretty well for me)
check it out

Yes. That A-Data 50x is one of the fastest cards you can get for the Axim. I am not really sure how fast it is in a reader but that $15 MIR is a killer deal. You can also opt for the 150x version found here ( http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...tCode=82502-14 ) and the 4GB version ( which I have ) is just a little bit more than that 2GB on eBay.

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...tCode=82502-19

$81.99 shipped then apply for the $12 MIR.

At any rate. You won't have to deal with wondering whether your card is counterfeit since both ZZF and Outpost are reputable.

I bought the 2GB 50x SD from outpost before I saw Jevans64's post, so I cancelled my order and got the A-Data 4GB 150x SD card from zipzoomfly, ;p

Keep in mind that the A-Data 150x cards, for some reason, don't bench as well on the Ax as the 50x cards. I don't seem to notice any slowdown or problems between those and my 4GB CF, which benches a lot higher. Heck. I even played a Divx encode of King Kong from my 4GB ( 3GB file size, 720x304 @ 2000Kb/s, AC3 audio ) without any problems. I encode all my Divx movies for the PC and don't feel like re-encoding them for the Ax. At any rate, you should hit 11-14 MB/s with a good card reader. I also have my Tom Tom GPS software and maps installed on it and don't notice any lag there either.

Another thing to note is that some older card readers may not recognise the 4GB card. I have the Transcend TS-RD13 card reader ( also from ZZF ) which reads it fine and is a good deal faster ( ~30% ) than my PC card reader. I went ahead and formatted mine FAT16 w/ 64K clusters, but it didn't help with speed that much. You can format your card FAT16 w/ 64K clusters with the DOS "format" command using a Windows Command Prompt.

You may want to look at this thread http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=130825. It appears there may be some quality issues with the A-Data cards. I have two (2 GB) and have not had any issue, but still good to have all of the info.
