Keep in mind that the A-Data 150x cards, for some reason, don't bench as well on the Ax as the 50x cards. I don't seem to notice any slowdown or problems between those and my 4GB CF, which benches a lot higher. Heck. I even played a Divx encode of King Kong from my 4GB ( 3GB file size, 720x304 @ 2000Kb/s, AC3 audio ) without any problems. I encode all my Divx movies for the PC and don't feel like re-encoding them for the Ax. At any rate, you should hit 11-14 MB/s with a good card reader. I also have my Tom Tom GPS software and maps installed on it and don't notice any lag there either.
Another thing to note is that some older card readers may not recognise the 4GB card. I have the Transcend TS-RD13 card reader ( also from ZZF ) which reads it fine and is a good deal faster ( ~30% ) than my PC card reader. I went ahead and formatted mine FAT16 w/ 64K clusters, but it didn't help with speed that much. You can format your card FAT16 w/ 64K clusters with the DOS "format" command using a Windows Command Prompt.
