Removing and Inserting CF and SD Cards ... When?
When is it OK to remove or insert a SD or CF storage card? When the unit of OFF, Standby, or ON?

If it's OK to removed when the unit is ON is there something similiar to the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon found in the Windows XP tray when you use removable storage cards?

Thanks,
Arek

The rule is pretty much dont remove the card when it is being accessed. I remove my cards when the unit is off mostly. I have a SD card and a CF micro drive and remove them only to put them into a card reader for faster file transfer to and from a PC.
