Erase SD card?

How do I completely erase everything on my sd card? I have deleted ewverything using file explorer and from the pc using activesync, but it still registers as half full when I check it. Also , when I think it,s clear (at least, I can't find any more files), if I reinsert it wmp finds about 30 songs.

A card reader or digicam can format the card quickly to erase its contents. If you don't have access to these, there are utilities that allow you to format the card from the Axim (e.g., Storage Tools, Resco Explorer, SKTools etc.).

Erasing by format still leaves the files intact for a skilled person ...
