Yes, this is the same thing that Markfou said above and I confirmed it. And I suppose your right, it is a more consistent rule:
My point is that
this is not how older versions of Windows Mobile worked. My old PocketPC started looking in "Storage Card/My Documents" and would search one level deep from there, giving the contents of all subfolders of "Storage Card/My Documents". In old versions you had to put files in that directory on a storage card in order for them to show up in applications. Now with WM5, you have to NOT put files in that directory. Or at least, not put files in subfolders of that directory, which is what one would expect people to do. I don't imagine many people just dump all their files in My Documents without organizing them.
So for me and others (I would assume), the upgrade to WM5 caused storage card files to suddenly and unexpectedly dissapear from Open File dialogs, which seems like a bad move to me.
