Worried Seagate 5GB ST1 Drive(no F/W) not working in Axim X51v

Hi I bought a Seagate 5GB ST1 Drive for my Axim X51v.

on the back it says: SN: 3ME0MXXY
P/N: 9AF212-001
Model: ST650211CF
Date:05131
+5V c RU US
for embedded application only.

When I put it in my axim you can hear the drive spinning then it stops and no errors or anything come up and i cant see it in the file explorer.

I tried it in my computer and the light comes on (but doesn't blink like it does with SD cards ) and nothing happens. if I try to open it in the file explorer it acts like theres no card in it.

I went to best buy and tried it in all the computers. The only ones it works in is compaq and sony. It said it was formatted to RAW and has the capacity of 4.65GB. so i reformatted it to FAT32 but it still wont work in my axim. Scandisk says there are no bad sectors on the drive so i dont know what the problem could be.

thanks!

Check the drive on the seagate site and see if it is a drive that was meant for mp3 players or on that is a photo drive. The photo drives work in axims, but the ones that were meant for mp3 players or other electronics. Good luck researching this drive.

You have to look up the complete number.

Model: ST650211CF

and see what it is compatible with.

it wont work. i bought an 8 gb one like that and had to re-sell it. notice "for embedded application only" on it. that means mp3 players. it will work with ipod type devices. thats it. sorry man, it sucks to learn the hard way. i know that from experience.

It was formatted to RAW so it must have worked in a camera Is it possible that the camera partitioned it?
