I am realy trying to figure out what is a good SD card reader. I need one that is gauranteed to read 4 GB SD cards. There is so much cheap stuff out there, and even the "brand names" are just as crappy. I need to hear from people who actually have a good one.

I use Kingston TravelLite - small, cheap, reliable and it reads 4Gb SD/MMC cards without a problem.
Get something compact. I have a SanDisk MobileMate SD+, which I panned in a review in Amazon.com for sometimes thinking a card is locked when it's not (still a problem). If you find something similar, a reader in the same form factor as a USB memory key, pick it up. And let me know about it if it's USB2.0, fast, and doesn't require you to wiggle the card/reinsert and retry repeatedly.
Although, it is cheap now, might be worth eight bucks to chance getting the same pain in the... lower back... that I did.
I use the LinXcel 6-1 card reader. See the link below. I have a CF 8gb Seagate card and it works fine in this card reader as does a regular CF card, SD card, MMC card, Memory Card and Smart Media card.
I have a Lexar Media JumpDrive Trio and I can't seem to get my 4gb OCZ 150x SD card to be read, Windows XP Pro can't recognize the device when I plug the Trio jumpdrive in. But it works fines with my 128mb SD card.
I also have a SanDisk MobileMate SD+, and use it nearly everyday. I carry a memory card (or two) and the reader with me. When I upgrade memory, I don't need to get a new thumbdrive; I just demote each of my SD cards: from Axim > jumpdrive > camera > obsolete parts closet.
I haven't had any problems, even after a wash & dry cycle.

I just bought a Sony 17 in 1 card reader from Office Depot. I normally buy this h j kind of stuff online but I needed one asap. It works great with my Ridata 4 gig sd card which I just got today from Newegg.com :-D!
I found a mini, pen like card reader, which supports SD, MMC, MS and their variants (includes microSD on a dedicated slot; except M2, which requires adaptor)
it also supports 4GB cards
Thanks. Per usual, the answers are always on Aximsite.
I just got my RiData 150x 4GB SD card today and was getting frustrated because my Belkin reader couldn't see it but my X50v can. I'll buy a new reader tomorrow.
