seagate ST1.2 8GB or TwinMOS CF 8192MB?

im awaiting my axim x51v

ive browsed through maybe every online store in my country, but the microdrive is really hard to get. Found only 1 site that sells it for 150 euro (converted from Nkr)

prod nr. ST68022CF

And the cheapes 8GB CF card i found was TwinMOS Compact Flash Card 8192MB, 140X (FCF8GBU-140X) at 170 euro

What is the best choice? And is there a reson why the 8GB seagate is so hard to find? (in norway)

they didnt ship int.

ended up with a TwinMOS Secure Digital 4096MB, 150X, Ultra-X, 17/22.5MB Write/

so i can supplement with a large cf card later, maybe get one used. (found out the axim can use both at the same time....)

The biggest sd card i found that warranted the same GB prize as CF microdrive.

The cheapest store also offered the cheapest shipping costs..

I have a 8gb CF Seagate micro drive. I have had it since last January and it has worked with my X51V with out any issues. It also works just great in my card reader with my PC.

what do you know.. after i ordered the 4 g sd card, i get an email that someone is selling a used microdrive.

ST68022CF number

ill see how much i can get it for, as i understand you can use a sd and the microdrive at the same time.

12GB combined is tempting

Ordered ST68022CF from NCIX. P/N 9AN417-501 FW: 3.01

Not recognized by X51V at all. The card works otherwise via a card reader.

Hmm, I never have had any problems with my x5 or my old x50. They all worked just fine for me! I had a seagate for a little while til I sold it and it worked just fine in both units. The X50 did have Windows mobile 5

It's OEM, white label. Oh... it DID say "for embedded application only".

So that's that. It's a dead horse.

--edit--
Yes I did every trick there is for it, soft reset, etc. I have A12 on the AXIM.

Were you able to get a refund from them?

ive checked NCIX.com, if thats where you ordered, and they use the orange drive labeled photo.

instead of correct image:

i think thats the one you got, then you should be able to return it for misrepresentation.

That's the image for the embedded drive. The title did say OEM on the description so just becaue of the picture is different is not really an issue. However they failed to mention that it's for embedded applications only and that is a mis-representation.
They have agreed to give a refund as per their usual policy. I have requested a FULL refund and I am still waiting for their response.
