Linky thing.

Thanks.
You need to see the back of the drive to get the part number off of it but since they only mention mp3 players that it supposed to work with I would not trust it

I have the drive. The part number is 9AF242-001 Model number is ST640211CF

But my real question is the picture of a full retail drive. The description is of a retail drive.

The drive came in a resealed anti-static envelope. I would love to see how actual retail drives are packaged.

I just received my 8G drive today. All of the 4G & 8G drives that I have seen look the same. You could have boughten a brand new one at Frys.com for $55.00.

This is how my drive come packaged.

I do have one issue with mine. It is difficult to remove from my Axim. There is not a lip on the back to help in pulling it out.

Put some tape on it and make a tab.

I have been all over the Frys.com site and can't find the microdrives.

Alright found them. Have you actually used the one from Frys? There are two different MicroDrives out there. One apparently doesn't have the controller and will only work with certain devices.

I put it in earlier today & it seems to work fine. It was recognized without having to do a soft rest or anything.

As long as it says photo drive on the package you should be good to go. The are quite of few people on this site that claim to be using them with success.

I just went to Seagate's web site & that drive pictured on Ebay is an OEM drive. It was probably sold with a camera & those drives are manufactured for specific applications. That drive may or not work. See the link below.
