Well, i'm well aware that SDHC cards don't work on an Axim (what a shame ). I tried it myself at the store, and obvoiusly did not buy it, since no folder shows up saying SDHC in file explorer when inserting it like it does with SD saying "SD card'. But seriously can somebody tell me why? Is it the case the ROM or the OS does not support it? Is there any registry heck, or tweak that will enable SDHC support on an Axim? Maybe some ROM hackers can get it to work?
Need answers!

Ah, found a ROM hack to support SDHC cards on Palm Treos, and maybe would also work on Palm TX, but what about Dell Axims??? (can't seem to find any.)

Just found that the Sandisk 16 GB Extreme III CF card works well in the x50v in this thread.

Unknown brand so probably OEM, branded as mymemory, purchased from mymemory.co.uk and sold thru ebay, works perfectly.

Sandisk 4GB SD card does not work -not even recognized- in my Axim X51v. The Card does not indicates SDHC anywhere. I know the card works because it runs fine in my Canon camera, but it is not recognized at all in the Axim. Do not buy it.

Patriot 2gb SD (not Extreme) - I've gone through two of these cards and they both have the same problem, 50% bad sectors.
Did a Google search, this seems to be a common problem.
Tried the cards with my X5 and iPaq hx4790.

Forgot to add: 2gb Hitachi microdrive & X5 - doesn't work, I've had the microdrive for a couple of years & even had it replaced once and I just can't get it to work in my X5 (even with CF Timing Update). Works perfectly in iPaq hx4790.

topram 150x 4gb sd card works great in my Axim X51V. The only problem I have seen is a slower transfer rate in my card reader. When looking at benchmaks I get a 1.3 m/sec write speed and a 6 mb/sec read. After reading some other posts this may be because it is formated fat 32.

A-Data 4GB 150x Turbo SD worked fine for 4 months in my Axim x50v. It now disappears on a regular bases. I reseat and then it works again. I've just started using it in my new x51v after 2 days of using it disappeared again. Plan on replacing.

I am using a 4gig San Disk Ultra II CF card on my Axim x51v and had no problems for almost 8 months, now in the last 3 or 4 weeks I have had the disapearing act problem, I found the A12 configuration utility fix and installed it succesfully, but now I have many more problems. I posted this elseware. the CF card has had no problems since I upgraded the rom; however, I have not yet been able to reinstall my software.

I didn't see these two CF Cards listed yet.

Over the past year I've bought two 8GB CF cards to use in my Canon S1 IS camera for video. I also tried both in my X51V.

PQI 8GB "Hi-Speed 100" CF; Write speed was insufficient for the camera but it works fine in the X51V.

SanDisk 8GB Extreme IV CF; Used minimally in the X51V but seemed to work fine. Also, it works great in the camera.
