Fake CF cards?

i just found this on ebay

CF Card

now, this looks rather cheap at £45.

he has some feedback reporting that the cards he is selling are fake, although, at the same time he also seems to have alot of satisfied customers. what the people who left negative feedback dont seem to indicate if they mean fake as in "fully working card but he stuck a sandisk label on it" (which, i frankly dont care about) or "doesnt work" (which, i do care about!)

so, basically what i am asking is: does anyone have any experience of these? and do they work?

thanks in advance!

I have had several experiences with fake cards on ebay (that I thankfully did not end up winning). I will not buy memory cards on ebay at all anymore.

I bought a fake SanDisk SD on eBay which did not work. Eventually got my money back through PayPal. Ebay seems to be full of fakes. I use Amazon now.

I have bought a number of cards on eBay in the past and all have worked nicely for me. However, since I wander through a number of forums in my job, I can tell you that for every good story I see about memory cards on eBay, I have seen ten bad stories. Don't take the risk. Just find a good, reputable dealer.

much as i like Ebay.. I'd won't buy flash memory from there. It's impossible to tell fakes from real until you have it, and by then the seller could have disappeared.

In the uk, I'd use Ebuyer or 7dayshop. Both are legit and If there was a problem with the cards then it would be easier to get a resolution.

I would say don't buy cards from people who are operating out of Asia. Other then that take your chances carefully. I got a 2gb CF card for 30$ and it works perfectly.

Then again now that I am looking at it he's in Japan. I'd say avoid it.
