If you really want to do card to card transfer, you can use a program called Card Export. This will allow your ax to be recognised as a card reader and then you can transfer directly from one to the other (without using Active Sync). Mind you I'm not sure if Card Export works with all Axims. I know it works with x51v

Hey Box, I did manage to move everything over to my new storage card, but I don't want to have to go through this process again in the future. I checked out the "Card Export" website , but I have a question. When I cradle my Axim, it automatically boots up Active Sync. If I disable "Active Sync" at this point, am I still really connected to my desktop computer?
Note that with the x5[0|1] CardExport really only does what it's name implies: it lets you read the sd/cf card. You cannot access the RAM filesystem nor the BIS.

With Card export you have the option on the AX to be in active sync mode or card reader mode. When in Card reader mode, putting the Ax in the cradle doesn't activate Active sync. You computer will simply recognise the Ax as another hard drive. You can the transfer files etc so Yes you are connected to your desktop. But as Datacohen says, you are only connected to the memory cards and not the internal memory of the Ax. Therefore it wont sync in this mode.

I had the same problem. I solved it by buying a second 8-card-reader for £4.99 (less than $10.00) postfree on the Internet. I am sure it will be cheaper in the US!
OK, I didn't realize that some of my music files never made it onto my new card using the previous method discussed. I got "Card Export" and tried it out (card to card). It worked great! Thanks, Box.
It's really simple. Remove the card from the Axim. Place it in card reader. Copy all info into a folder on your hard drive. Remove card. Insert new card and copy all info on to new card. Remove card and place in Axim. Done.
