''SD card is removed or read only''

I have not been able to back-up my x51v since I bought it in earlly Dec. I get the error message ''SD card is removed or read only.'' However, neither is true.
I have a 1gb Scan
Disk, with plenty, plenty of space on the disk (need 54mb). Presently I have stored pictures which are easily readable, and my mail attachments are stored there and retrieved with no trouble. I am using the backup program that came with my x51x.
Any advice so I can backup ?

Have you tried writing to the card? Try and copy and paste some files on the card in Explorer.

yes with no problem.. I have substituted a 512gb Scan Disk from my camera and got the same message

I have the same error.
I don't use Axim's backup. I consider that function as broken.
Same with with Switcher Bar.

and error reporting...

and active sync... (wanting to sync every 5 mins... WSOD will show).

and bluetooth stack...

can your axim read the card is it fully inserted and if so try a soft reset with the card in the sd slot

backup the files & reformat to fat16 or fat32, just try & error

I have the same problem. I've tried it with an SD card and a CF card, both with hundreds of MB of empty space. The data backup program is definitely broken. Has anyone tried third party apps, like sprite? I hate to buy a program to do something so basic. At least with the old activesync you could backup to your PC's hard disk, but that feature is apparently gone now.

I backup my x51 with Sprite to PC and SD Card fine, also restore after a ROM upgrade without problems, saved me about half a days work reinstalling apps and configuring
