Transcend 8GB CF card
I don't know if this has been reported before, and if so sorry. I wanted to report my findings and let you all know.
I just recently bought a Transcend 8GB 120x CF card (TS8GCF120) , I am happy to report that this card is working fine in my Axim X50v running WM5. I would go to say that this card would prolly work in a X50 and X51/v as well. The card cost me 157 bucks from a fry's B&M, and from what I have seen is not to bad of a price.
anyways if you are windering if a 8GB will work, it sure does...

Thanks for that. I have been contemplating acquiring a Transcend 8GB for a while. I have Transcend SD cards and they seem to work fine. Right now I use a Hitachi 4GB MD in my CF slot. Just waiting for a nice deal.

I have three of these for my X51v, and all work great :approve:. ZipZoomFly actually has the best price right now at $ 139.00 with free shipping.
I also use the 4GB Transcend SD card, and they work very well :approve: . The best price I have found on these lately has been from Tigerdirect.com at $ 59.99 + shipping.

I use the 4gb version and I am very happy with the card. My only regret is that I did not buy the 8gb version. But they were sold out at the time and I desperatley needed something to replace my 256mb card.

Anyone know how to format transcend 4gb 150x SD card with 64k cluster size? I use SKTools and tried all different combination, the best I could get is FAT/32K. However, the performance is really poor compare to my 45X 2gb CF card.
Thanks in advance.

For those of you who are thinking about picking up this card, newegg.com now has it for $99.99 + $4.99 shipping. The cheapest GB/$ you can get in a CF card to date.

First let me say thanks for this helpful thread!! :)
Second, I just ordered a Transcend 8gb cf card and I'm curious...if I was going to buy a SanDisk extreme II 8gb (not sure if it works) what would I be paying for at $279.99? Is there a difference in quality or something I'm missing?
I'm assuming the Transcend work just as good as the Sandisk...or correct me if I'm wrong?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Sandisk is _the_ memory card manufacturer.
Superb quality.
I'll try a transcend next time. I really don't need memory cards made for professional photographers.
Especially when I can get more than twice the storage/$.
