So my Axim is now reading the full capacity of my card. Since I have checked it at least a dozen times in the System menu, but this was the first time actually using the card in the Axim, my guess is by opening the SysInfo file the Axim puts on the card it triggered something to make it read the whole thing. My Transcend card is now working. Thanks to everyone who posted.

Great, but I don't understand how opening sysinfo should have any effect on how the Ax sees the memory. Mine worked fine out of the box, no formatting or anything required.

I'm not sure that it did have anything to do with it starting to work. I was just taking a guess. I had already powered off, removed the 1GB card, and inserted the 4GB card at least a dozen times and it would only read it as 1GB. When I opened a file that existed on the Transcend card then it started reading it as 4GB.

My theory was that doing this triggered the Axim to actually refresh the information it had in memory about what size card was installed, instead of just assuming the 1GB card was in there. It could be my theory is totally wrong and the planets just all of a sudden aligned for me, who knows. I do know that my Transcend didn't work right out of the box, and since I've got it working I'm not going to try to reproduce the problem. :-)
