Transcend 150x 4GB SD NOT recemmended by Transcend
What is the correct answer about Axim x51v compatibility with the Transcend 150x 4GB card?
From whar I read on this website the answer is that this card is a "Go", so I ordered one from TigerDirect.
Before I checked the website, I had send an inquiry to the Transcend website and here is what they have to say:
Dear drb123,
Thank you for your interest in Transcend. Please note that your device Dell Axim X51v is not compatible with our TS4GSD150.
Dell Axim X51v Handheld
(PDA)The original manufacturer declares the maximum stated capacity '' SD:2GB ''. Transcend always advises our customers to ensure they are running the latest firmware version and to evaluate the device to determine its actual capacity size.
I'm with Box. I've used that 4GB card for nearly a year without any problems whatsoever.

Yep, I have a Transcend 4GB 150x SD, but I couldn't tell you if it is the "TS4GSD150", tho - it doesn't say on the module, and I didn't keep the packaging, sorry.
Anyway, mine works fine, whatever model it is. So long as it doesn't say SDHC, I wouldn't worry about it.
Just as an FYI, I compared the stats on this Transcend 150x 4GB card with my Sandisk Ultra II 2GB card that I had been using. They have the exact same information on them both.
It's interesting to see the disparity between testing benchmark program results. Personally, in the short time that I have played around with my Axim x51v with the new Transcend card, I can't tell any difference in performance. :approve:
The problem is 'compatible' and proved to be compatible.
There are hundreds (thousands?) of devices that take SD cards. Do Transcend do extransive testing with all of them? No, because it would cost them a fortune. So if they have a piece of paper from the manufacturer (who can be held responsible if it fails to work) saying that its not compatible, will Transcend over-rule them??? and take on the liabilities if it doesn't work?
No, what they will do is send whoever asked the question a reply such as the one they sent you. And if it is wrong, then they aren't to blame
Another positive experience. Bought my Transcend 4GB 150x SD from meritline.com just a week ago ( just $50.50 currently ! ) Works fine in my x51v. I formatted it from raw which it came as to FAT32 (4K cluster size).
