So I called customer service today and they graciously credited my charge card the $50 difference between the price I bought the card at and the price now. Amazing people.
I also just ordered the Sandisk 16Gb compact flash card from J&R .
And to answer my earlier question re customs charges for Canadians ordering from the US (I called Canada Customs):
1. There is no duty on computer equipment.
2. You have to pay GST +/- PST (depending on where you live).
3. The shipping fee from J&R is 26$ US, which includes the brokerage fees (so this is quite reasonable).
If you're from Canada, and ordering from J&R, and want to save an extra 10$ using google checkout - well google checkout won't work (google says J&R doesn't ship to Canada, which is not true).

Good gravy, people, are you trying to drive me to the poorhouse? I just bought an 8GB CF and now you are literally forcing me to plunk down more money on a 16GB CF. I beg you to stop this madness.______:waaa:
I'm sorry about my question but is there any limit? I mean some ppcs can only work with <=16gb cf. And x51v s?
My understanding is that for CompactFlash cards, the only limit is the FAT32 filesystem. And that limit is 8 TB (i.e. ~8000 GB)! The 4 GB limit on SD cards is simply because larger sizes use the SDHC protocol. Anyways, we're quite lucky that our Axim X50/51's are one of the few PDA's to have a CF slot. A year from now, be on the lookout for deals for 64 GB cards :P!
There is, of course, a finite limit to how much they can fit on a CF Card. I personally don't know what it is, but there has to be a limit to it just like there is a limit to SD cards (around 4 GB). Then they create a whole new way to store the data (SDHC) and you can have much more memory, but incompatibilities. The 16 GB card works quite well, btw.
