SD-USB adapter problems, 4GB sd card now full of crap!!!! help please :(

well i brought one of the usb-sd adapter's on ebay.
Now it was all fine, for a while
then all the files and folders turned into £$%^& characters
as a result my PDA doesnt see any of the applications on there

is there a way to fix this?

Is the PC able to read the contents of the SD card correctly? I've not heard of this kind of behavior...almost like a text code page change occurred on the SD card.

the thing is things that were FOLDERS
are now, e.g:

skyscape ifact folder (2mb of files inside the folder) is now skyscape FILE 32kb

Hm, the folder didn't get zipped, did it? By default I don't think the Axim shows zipped files as zipped files.

I had something similar happen... I chalked it up to data corruption.

I have a 4GB TwinMOS 150x SD card which I use a reader to copy data in as it's much faster.

Somehow, there were directories missing and files with weird names showing up in the root. And this would happen again and again. I have a copy of my SD card in my PC so I just copy over everything again.

I suppose it was because I did not let it "shut down safely" before removal?

In any case, I formatted the card and since have been really careful about removal and the problem never happened again.
