Hmm slight ghostly problem with SD card!!

I have just recently bought a dell axim x51v, and got a 2gb sd card from play.com, but on travelling home after a flight, I went into the SD card and nothing was there. The axim was fully charged and everything was fine, except everything on my SD card was gone. So took the SD card and placed it into my pc again nothing there, but then when I checked the properties, I could still see the memory had been writted to??? Anyone know how I can see these hidden (ghostly) files??

Many thanks

SD card data corruption is my best guess. Had something similar happen to me where files could be seen via the PC but not my PDA (then ipaq 1940). It kept recurring although I restored my files from my PC. It only resolved permanently when I formatted my card (in my PDA) and then recopied my files with my PC.

Now I'm very careful to "safely remove hardware" when disconnecting from my PC and ensuring that my PDA is OFF before I remove my card.

Oh, just to add that I'm still using the same 4GB card with my x51v and haven't had any problems since.

Also, I always run 'sync' before disconnecting any device, even after selecting 'safely remove hardware'. This is because of the cache: 'safely remove hardware' will return even if the card is still being written to, but 'sync' will not.
